Titled after the 1978 thriller, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 2018 (plaster, chicken wire, acrylic, rope)

is about the extraterrestrial invasion of alien spores that have fallen from space and are capable of reproducing a human copy. Once each spore develops, it takes on the physical characteristics, memories, and personalities of each person nearby. These duplicates lack human emotion.

These forms deal with the dehumanization and fear for the loss of individual identity. In the movie this theme can be historically connected to the end of the Korean War. As for this installation I wanted to comment on how dehumanization is still prevalent in our daily lives. It occurs across several domains: status, power, and social connection. This can result in exclusion, violence, and discrimination against others, leading to the objectification of sexes, the discrimination of race, and systematic destruction.
