Cabin Rags 2024 (dirty rags covered in acrylic paint, thread)

Summer camp rags, once utilized for paint, were thoughtfully collected from the Interlochen School of the Arts and meticulously

hand-stitched together. This process transformed these everyday objects into a cohesive piece of art, using repetition to highlight the intrinsic beauty that can be found in the mundane. By assembling these rags, each with its unique history and texture, the project not only celebrates the aesthetic resonance of ordinary materials but also elevates them to a new artistic form. The careful stitching serves as a metaphor for the connections between artists and their craft, illustrating how simple items can acquire profound significance when woven together with intention and care.
